Bargersville Cemetery
Also known as Doty Cemetery

Bargersville Cemetery is located on County Road 300N about a quarter of a mile east of State Road 135. It is behind the Flea Market that sets on the highway. Bargersville Cemetery is also known as Doty Cemetery. It is on land originally owned by George Doty, who was the first known burial in this cemetery. There are about 115 burials here. The White River Township Trustee maintains this site. It it completely fenced in.

There is obvious vandalism. Not a lot of broken stones, but many knocked over in need of being reset and cleaned. There are some small tree's that need to be removed because of their proximity to grave markers.

There are possibly as many as five Civil War veterans buried here, but only two have a military marker. More research will be done to determine if the other three are veterans, and if so we will attempt to obtain military markers from the Veteran's Administration to be placed on their graves. Research is also being done to determine if veteran's from other periods are buried here.

Directions to the cemetery
From Franklin take Highway 144 to Bargersville. At the intersection of 144 and 135 (a stop light) turn right. Almost immediately you will make another right turn onto CR 300N. The cemetery is a 1/4 of a mile down, on the left.
